How to Find Online Hookups
You are now done signing up and creating your online dating profile. What’s next? You start looking for online hookups and dates! How is this done? It’s actually pretty simple. Here is what we’d like to call our “how to find a date online after you’ve created a profile for dummies.”
1. Know what type of person you want to meet.
This may be a no brainer because you already have a preference. Start browsing for photos because it’s always about the physical attraction at first. However, there is more to this when you go dating online. What you should do first is pick a location. For people who love to travel, you can try looking for potential mates at the next city you’ll be heading to. You can have a huge advantage if you know about the things you may have in common, like clubbing or hitting the art galleries.
2. Read their testimonials.
This is basically what other people think about a particular individual at online dating sites. You can find out if a certain person is good company, what his or her best traits are, or how much fun people find him or her when they went out. You can use them as reference to find out if a person is genuine and sincere. They can always delete the bad testimonials, but always make it a point to find those who have received a lot of good things to say from other people.
3. Send your first message and break the ice.
In the online dating web site world, it doesn’t really matter if you’re a guy or a girl. Both genders can initiate contact without being judged. Send out a casual hello, politely introduce yourself and try to talk about pleasant things like something in his or her profile you saw that made you want to write the person. Sending out a compliment about a profile is a good way to get the ball rolling. This will make the other person know you are interested, and probably think you took a second look at the profile photo and decided they’re good looking enough to warrant a message.
*Tip: Don’t write messages that are too long, but don’t write very short ones either. Long messages are fine, but when it becomes too long, it may bore the life out of the recipient. Limit your messages to something that you can read yourself. Short messages, but not too short, can give you the opportunity to write to more people.
4. Try having a phone conversation first before meeting up.
Instant messengers now have a voice chat feature that can be essential when finding out if you two can hit it off. This can also be a safe strategy if you are at ease to exchange personal info. This only means there is already an established high level of trustworthiness.
